Some people book beach houses.

But the real ones know…

The best vacation usually starts when the lights go down and Widespread Panic walks on stage.

“Vacation” was pure Mikey. Loose, melodic, wandering in that way only he could make feel intentional. It wasn’t flashy. It was honest. It breathed.

For me?
This was the first one.

It was on the backside of a live show tape — after “Drums.”
I’d flip it over, hit play, and just let it roll.
I used to sit there practicing congas along with it, trying to lock into that pocket, trying to understand that space.

That was my vacation.

Not a plane ticket.
Not a resort.
Just rhythm. Tape hiss. And that Houser tone.

This piece is a nod to that era —
To Mikey’s songwriting.
To falling in love with a band the long way.
To growing up and realizing that catching a run as an adult is still the best trip you’ll take all year.

Wear it when you’re headed to the next show.
Wear it when you’re chasing that old tape feeling.
Wear it because some vacations never really end.
